Blender physics 101: Rendering volumes faster

- [David] Over the past few videos we've talked a lot about making fire and smoke. But what if you had to render all of that instead of cycles? Now, inside of eevee, I click on my render tab, I have all of these options for volumetrics, but honestly, eevee renders volumes fairly quickly already. When you get to cycles, though, you only have a couple of options, and they kind of don't make sense. So this week, I wanted to talk about what these do, and how they can dramatically speed up your render time. Now, we need something interesting that is volumetric, so let's just go ahead and delete this cube, shift A, and add a torus. If you want to, you can play with the radius, and make it a really chunky donut. Tab, control F, shade smooth, because why not. Spacebar, or F3, depending on your shortcuts, click smoke, we don't necessarily need smoke and fire, but if you want to, go ahead. I'm going to scale up this domain, move it…
