The business case for mentoring
- Helpless. That's the initial feeling when you see someone in your life who has enormous potential but doesn't know how to realize it. They're so deep inside the jar that they can't even read the label. They don't know what opportunities exist, how to learn about them, or even what steps to take to get there. You know that with the right guidance, there are no limits for this person. They need a guide by their side, they need an inspiring mentor, and you are ready to rise to that challenge. The impact you can have as an inspiring mentor, the ripple effect across organizations and industries is very real. As an inspiring mentor, you will be known as someone who knows how to cultivate talent and inspire high achievers. But can you learn to become an inspiring mentor? Oh yes, you can. My name is Dr. Ruth Gotian and I'm an adult educator, researcher, and author of "The Success Factor." I have studied and taught about the science of mentorship, develop mentorship programs, and have helped many, many good mentors become inspiring mentors. In this course, I'll show you how to be the kind of mentor that every mentee needs. I'll share how you can sponsor your mentee for opportunities and give their work a well-earned spotlight. I'll also share how to avoid common missteps that some mentors make. By the end of this course, you will feel confident in the methods and best practices of mentorship, and you'll be well on your way to becoming an inspiring mentor. So if you're ready, let's dive in.
