Does anyone else dread the words, “It's time for your performance review,” or “Hey, we've got some feedback from a client about your work and we need to talk?” Even if it's good news, I still get a pit in my stomach, feeling nervous that I'm about to be scolded and forced to live in a cloak of shame for the rest of my life. But my therapist would tell me to challenge and unpack that fear. And now that I'm saying this out loud, maybe the fear comes from me not getting enough feedback frequently. So with that revelation, seek feedback, and be willing to adapt. It's a valuable skill when working with a new team. In this video, I'll share some tips you can use to recognize how being open to feedback helps you to embrace change and adapt to your new work environment.
