Batch renaming files on macOS
- Your Mac makes it easy to batch rename a lot of files. This could be useful if you have inconsistent extensions or maybe you want to rename them to make them easier to find, or put them in a certain order. Well, fortunately, the batch renaming features are pretty straightforward and quite useful. What you want to do is navigate to a folder. You could then, select all of the items and with a right-click choose Rename. Now, it gives you an idea what's going to happen. You'll see the option to replace text or add text. For example, I could replace any file that has the older four character extension of JPEG with JPG click Rename and they all have a consistent file name. I can go ahead here and do a batch rename, and maybe I want to add some extra details. So, I'll choose to Add Text. And I could say before the file name enter the name of the client OBX_Travel_ and it's going to add that text in there. Click Rename and you see…
