- [Narrator] I love dispelling SEO writing myths. These five myths have been around for over 15 years and following these fake rules have caused B2B writers a lot of frustration. Watch through to the end because I save the best myth for last and it's excellent news for B2B SEO writers. The first rule tends to surprise people. There is no ideal word count for Google. In fact, Google doesn't care about word count. All Google cares about is does this page represent the best answer for the search query? Instead of worrying about hitting a word count, your job as a B2B writer is to examine what's currently positioning for the search query and create a better resource. That means your article may be 250 words or you may choose to write a long 2,500 word guide.
