- [Instructor] In this demonstration, we will explore backing up a file share in the Azure portal. At the high level, here are the five steps to enable backup for Azure file shares. First, you create a storage account with a file share. Now, during the creation wizard of the file share in the storage account, you have the option to automatically enable backup for the share. Now, by default, this option is enabled to protect your file shares, but you can customize it if you want. Next, you create or use an existing recovery services vault. Then you create a new backup policy for the file share to match your desired recovery point objective, RPO requirements. Then you enable and configure the file share backup, and last, you verify the backup. Let's jump to the Azure portal and see it in action. The first step is to create a storage account.
