- [Instructor] The term governance describes the general process of establishing rules and policies while ensuring that those rules and policies are enforced in a proper manner. You need to have a good governance strategy to maintain control over your application and resources that are running in the cloud. Implementing proper governance also ensures that you're compliant with industry standard regulations like PCIDSS and GDPR, et cetera, in addition to corporate standards of keeping the network data encrypted. Azure governance is bifurcated into different components and services, namely management groups, Azure Policies, and Azure Blueprints.
