Hands-on AWS Lambda labs: Introduction
- Welcome to Hands-on AWS Lambda Labs: Essential Lab Exercises. As the evolution to the cloud continues, more and more workloads are being moved from traditional virtual servers to containers and serverless functions. A strong understanding of Lambda is a critical skill as this evolution continues, but these new technologies can be intimidating and getting started is usually the hardest part. This course is structured around a comprehensive set of hands-on labs designed to simplify your entry into the world of Lambda serverless functions. Each lab is complemented by detailed video tutorials, ensuring that you have all the guidance you need. Successfully completing these labs equips you with the Lambda knowledge required as part of several AWS certification exams, including the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, SysOps Administrator Associate, and Developer Associate. You'll begin with the fundamentals of Lambda functions within the AWS console. As you progress, you'll tackle more complex scenarios, including integration with AWS services such as VPCs, IAM, EC2, and CloudWatch. You'll even construct a scheduled Lambda function to capture snapshots of EC2 instances and explore aspects of Lambda concurrency and scaling. By the conclusion of this course, you'll possess the confidence to craft and test Lambda functions and seamlessly integrate them with a variety of AWS services. Let me share with you a little bit about myself and my background. My name is Rick Crisci, and I've been teaching virtualization and cloud computing since 2013. I taught directly for AWS for years before I decided to start creating my own original training materials. Since then, I've taught hundreds of thousands students across a variety of platforms. I'm an author of the AWS Certified SysOps Exam Cram Book, and I'm also the founder and primary instructor for trainertests.com, a leading provider of AWS and VMware training and practice exams. We've got a lot to cover, so let's get started.
