Transferring data with AWS Snow Family
- [Instructor] Imagine this. You have petabytes of data that need to be transferred to AWS. Transferring this over the internet will take several weeks, maybe even months. AWS Snow Family can help in this situation. It is a collection of physical devices designed to transfer massive amounts of data into and out of AWS. The Snow Family's also used for running applications and processing data at the edge in environments with limited connectivity. For most data migration workloads, AWS DataSync is the recommended tool for online transfers. However, in situations where network bandwidth is limited, the AWS Snowball Edge Storage Optimized device is the solution. It is a physical, rugged device that you order from AWS. The latest generation device has up to 210 terabytes of storage. The process is straightforward.
