In a large organization, choosing the wrong pricing model for your EC2 instances can lead to significant overspending. So let's explore the different purchasing options so you can choose the right one for your workload and budget. The following purchasing options are available for EC2 instances: on-demand instances, spot instances, capacity reservations, reserved instances, savings plans, dedicated hosts and dedicated instances. With on-demand instances, you pay for compute capacity by the second with no long-term commitment. On-demand is your starting point.
