- [Instructor] In this video, we will talk about the Amazon Data Lifecycle Manager, DLM. At the end of the lecture, you'll be able to explain how the Amazon Data Lifecycle Manager service helps you manage your EBS volume backups. So without further ado, let's get into it. If you're working with EBS in AWS, there's a big chance that you need to back up your volumes by creating EBS snapshots. As an administrator, you want to regularly clean up your EBS snapshots to make sure you remove outdated snapshots that don't need to be stored anymore based on your organizational policy, which ultimately results in cost savings. You may also want to automatically back up your EBS volumes on a regular schedule and maybe even create copies of your EBS snapshots to another account for disaster recovery purposes.
