- In this scenario, we are going to take a look at some requirements around DevOps and operational excellence, which might sound a little strange for a solutions architect until you realize that, at least in AWS, a solutions architect is going to be responsible for understanding the entire lifecycle of an application, which includes operations. "A DevOps team has been asked to refactor existing deployment processes for a planned migration to AWS. The current processes combine in-place and rolling deployments. The company would like to implement immutability for all EC2-based applications to improve overall security and reliability. How can the DevOps team meet the requirements while using AWS services and features?" What questions do we need to ask ourselves with this scenario? First is what is immutability?
