Many organizations today operate in multiple cities and countries. They need their offices and data centers to communicate in a way that's fast, secure, and predictable. But internet-based VPN connections can experience routing issues, latency spikes, or congestion. On the other hand, MPLS is reliable. But it's expensive, takes months to set up, and is difficult to scale. This creates a challenge. How do you build a global network that is fast, secure, reliable, and flexible without breaking the budget. This is where AWS Direct Connect SiteLink comes in. To understand SiteLink properly, you first need to understand Direct Connect. Direct Connect, or DX, is a dedicated private connection from your on-premises data center to AWS.
