Hello, everyone. In this lesson, we'll talk about the Direct Connect gateway and how it helps when you have multiple VPCs in AWS. Let's have a quick recap. AWS Direct Connect gives you a private and dedicated network link from your data center to AWS. This is usually more stable and consistent compared to using the public Internet. You'll often see the term DX in diagrams or documentation. DX is simply short for Direct Connect. So anytime you hear DX Connection or DX Gateway, it's referring to your Direct Connect network link. Today, most organizations don't use just one VPC. They use multiple VPCs, sometimes even in different AWS regions. Without a Direct Connect Gateway, connecting all of those VPCs So on-premises becomes messy and complicated. This is where the Direct Connect Gateway or DX Gateway comes in.
