- [Instructor] Now let's talk about AWS CloudTrail. AWS CloudTrail is a managed service that you can use to monitor and log the activities that were done by an IAM user, IAM role, or an AWS service on your AWS accounts. All actions made in the AWS Management Console, API, or CLI calls, are recorded as events by CloudTrail. CloudTrail can help you facilitate governance, compliance, operational auditing, and risk auditing of your AWS accounts. So what does this mean? I'll give you an example. Suppose you have a dev account where your team can play around and experiment on different AWS services, and one of your members has been launching too many EC2 instances without letting you know. At the end of the month, you've seen that the cost of your EC2 instances has gone way higher than what you're expecting.
