- [Speaker] Amazon Aurora is a fully managed database service that is owned by AWS. It is also one of the database engine types available in Amazon RDS. It scales automatically performs faster and costs lower than other databases. Amazon Aurora is a type of relational database that is compatible with both MySQL and PostgreSQL DB engines. The applications and tools that you use with your MySQL or PostgreSQL databases are all compatible with Aurora, so you can use them interchangeably with digital or no change. Amazon Aurora is somewhat similar to Amazon RDS in many ways, but keep in mind that Amazon Aurora is technically within the Amazon RDS ecosystem. Aurora is not just a database engine. Since it has unique feature that are only exclusive to Aurora databases, it can automatically grow or scale its storage as needed.
