WAF and Shield
- [Instructor] Next in the toolkit we have WAF and Shield, and AWS Firewall Manager is now part of this. So, again, it's pretty well documented right inside of the console. So WAF, as it says, is a Web Application Firewall service that lets us monitor web requests that are forwarded to a Gateway, CloudFront, or application load balancer. So, I've had to do this with a couple of customers, but not super common. You know, if you need it for those reasons, then it's basically a firewall for those reasons. In addition to this, we have Shield. So Shield is a managed DDoS protection service, so denial of service. This is showing you people are trying to DDoS Amazon accounts, and you can then subscribe to Shield Advanced for a fee, and then AWS Shield will provide automated mitigations if somebody tries to DDoS you. So, again, this is more of an enterprise level service, but it's definitely something that I've seen customers use. And then the newest part of this is AWS Firewall Manager. This…
