From the course: AWS Administration: Security Fundamentals

What you should know

- [Instructor] In regards to what you should know, whether or not you should take this class, if you have an interest in the cloud in general, if you're specifically interested in AWS cloud security because you're moving applications to AWS or you need to get certified, you kind of want to know what's going on, then I would say this is a good starting class for you. It explains all the concepts and the services, and lays out what the services do, certain things that you should consider performing or carrying out, i.e. best practices. But really the heavy lifting in this class is you looking at the services and saying that service looks like it could help me out. I've got to go explore that service a bit further and see how it matches up with my organization and my needs. So, that's the intent of this class, saying this is the smorgasbord of security, of services at AWS, and considerations as to what you should do. If you have a basic knowledge of the public cloud, that could be helpful, but it isn't necessary. It's an introductory class. I also expect you probably have a decent technical background, but just maybe not a technical background in what is happening in the AWS Cloud. So, if you're a project manager, a manager, an administrator, a systems administrator, a developer, a cloud architect, this will give you that baseline on AWS cloud security that you may be looking for.
