Adding nozzles to your equipment drawing files

- [Female Instructor] In a process plant, most of the equipment have nozzles to allow the gas or liquids to flow in and out. The schematic nature of a P&ID means that we need to see all the connections on any given piece of equipment and number them accordingly. There are two ways we can add nozzles to a piece of equipment: automatically, by connecting a pipe line to the equipment or manually by selecting a nozzle from the tool palette and placing it on the equipment. Let's take a look at both of these methods. So let's open our exercise file, 0307, and let's take a look at this vertical column. You'll notice that all the pipe coming in and out is connected by a nozzle. When we hover over the nozzle, you'll see a number. Nozzles are numbered automatically just the way the equipment is, as this is tied into a nozzle list which is issued with the P&ID and this will be matched up when we're actually placing these spools in the field and attaching piping to this vessel.
