Offset
- [Instructor] The offset tool is a little bit different than the tools we've been working with so far, in that you have to specify a distance first and then select the objects that you want to work with. We'll find the offset tool here on the modified panel. Immediately, I'm asked to specify the offset distance. I'm going to type in three and press Return. I'll select my line, here and start to drag my cursor around. And we can see that as I drag my cursor, depending on where I pick, will determine where the new object is created. I'm going to pick up here and then press Return. We can see that AutoCAD created a parallel line, exactly three units from the original. I'm going to repeat the process with a circle over here. I'm going to hit Return to get back into the offset command and we can see that three is actually leftover down in the command line from the last time that I used the command.
