- [Instructor] We're starting another chapter now in our AutoCAD developing CAD standards course, and what we're going to do now is develop an entire drawing template that we can use to create our drawings, our DWG files. But, as we go, we're going to standardize everything in the template. Then what we can do is utilize the template, and the drawings created with that template, to form a new DWS file, a CAD standards file. Now what we're going to do in this particular instance is we're literally going to start from scratch, and create our new layers in our new drawing. So, I'm in the start screen of AutoCAD 2018. I'm going to click on the down arrow here for templates, and I'm going to use the acadiso.dwt file. If I hover over that, you can see it's a normal international metric drawing template.
