- [Instructor] Let's spend a bit of time talking about the author's role in the creation of an audio book. If you are an author with a traditional publishing contract your publisher will arrange for an audio book. In this course, I instead assume you are a self published author. And as a result, you have much more responsibility for the creation of an audio book version of your novel, as well as control over the process. In later chapters, we'll discover the different roles required to produce an audio book. But in this chapter, let's drill down on your responsibilities as an author. The process should be simple. You take a copy of your printed manuscript and toss it into the audio book machine. One month later, presto, the audio book is finished. Sorry, but that's not the way it works.
