- [Instructor] ArchiCAD's trace function allows us to trace any other 2D view within the ArchiCAD file. In this video, we'll explore the feature of this function. We can enable the trace function from the top pull-down menu from View, and then Trace. Or we can also find this in our top menu toolbar. We can click this here as a toggle to turn it off or back on again. However, if we want to choose a specific view to trace, I prefer to simply right click on the desired view and select show as trace reference. In this case, we want to select our A-ED Grid Brick Plan view. So we'll select it. Right click, show as trace reference. The trace reference settings can be accessed via the pull-down menu, View, Trace Options, or we can access these as well via the small arrow beside the icon on our top toolbar.
