Designing with snaps
- [Instructor] Snap to functions, allow for improved accuracy while working quickly. In this video, we'll review how these functions can improve drawing and modeling efficiencies. Even when we were working without grids, ArchiCAD can provide us with confidence of exacting dimensional accuracy without the need for typing coordinates or dimensional lengths through the use of snaps. These snaps fit into four categories, element snaps, surface snaps, snap guides, and snap points. All of these snaps can be enabled, disabled, or even edited from the pull-down menu called view, just in the same way as grid snaps. To enable element snap, from the menu we'll select view, element snap. Once enabled, when we move an element such as a wall, it will automatically snap to the face or corner of another element.
