- [Instructor] When we're talking about data transfer in the cloud, what is being transferred is many, many packets of data. Amazon tracks these packets because they have to send our information properly from the source to the destination. And in a lot of cases, they will charge us, depending on where that packet of information is going to go. So a mini course within a course. We start off with a preamble. Attention, we're going to communicate. The information is going to this destination from this source address. It's a certain type of packet. We've got this important data, and there's some error checking to ensure that the packet is going to get from source to destination. There's many more fields in a typical ethernet packet, but hopefully you get the idea that everything sent across the network is delivered in a packet from source to destination.
