Fostering an ethical cybersecurity culture
- [Narrator] Ethics aren't decided in a vacuum, they're the result of a community effort. While you'll be making your own decisions about how to respond to ethical quandaries, you won't be doing it alone. Remember, moral decisions are individual but ethical decisions focus on the group. As you're fostering an ethical cybersecurity culture, I recommend that you build that culture around five key pillars. Integrity, respect for privacy, professionalism and competence, responsibility and accountability, and collaboration and knowledge sharing. Acting with integrity means that you adhere to high ethical standards. It means demonstrating honesty, transparency, and accountability in your actions. Examples of acting with integrity include avoiding conflicts of interest and responsibly disclosing vulnerabilities.
