Managing ESXi

So, as managed in the previous video, managing vSphere is hard because of the big amount of requirements to set up a complete vSphere environment. Fortunately, it is doable to run an ESXi virtual machine inside your lab environment, which is why in this video I'm going to show you how to manage ESXi and that is giving you some useful insight in VMware environments as well. So to start with you need to prepare the ESXi host. So the VMware modules themselves are focusing on managing vSphere, obviously because that is what is used in bigger companies. But individual ESXi hosts can be managed after enabling SSH on the ESXi host and in order to do so you need to log in to the ESXi web user interface and you enable the service and you start and stop that with the host. Let me just show you how that works. So here we have the ESXi host and that's the first thing that you need to set it up. As you can see it is listening to the IP address 228.
