- Let's be honest, working in movies and TV shows is one of the coolest things animators can do. From a big name animated movie to a superhero hit, animators have a wide arena to apply their skills. Chief among them are character animators. In our animated series, "Ray & Clovis," we focus on movement and storytelling, all while exaggerating these two silly roommates. We told jokes, they played music, and we were as slapstick as you could get. Movie animation is a completely different animal. In this scene from "Because of Charley," we were tasked with creating realistic trees and a flying branch through a window, all to highlight the destructive nature of Hurricane Charley as it swept through Florida. As you can see from this still plate, we didn't really have much to work with, but through the use of visual effects animation, we recreated a number of effects that we overlaid on top to really make the scene come alive.…
