Compositing 3D models in After Effects
- [Instructor] In this video, I'll walk you through the After Effects project included with the Exercise Files. I'm not building it step-by-step with you because I've already covered most of the techniques previously, and I want you to create your own version rather than just copying my work. But I will show you what I've managed to create. So starting from the bottom layer, we have the nebula model. Above it, there is a free 3D model of a space station downloaded from Sketchfab. This one is courtesy of re1monsen. Now, this model, as you can see, is also animated, so depending on the version of After Effects you're using, you might be able to access this animation. But to ensure compatibility, I also animated the x rotation of this model using the time expression. And as you can see, the space station model is too dark and doesn't match the background colors.
