- [Instructor] I'd like to promise that your rapport with your Android mobile device will be carefree and productive. Alas, like any relationship, you will encounter problems. Here are my helpful words of advice. For general weirdness, sluggishness, or a loss of control, restart the device. Press and hold the Power/Lock key. Choose Restart or, more drastically, Power off. Confirm your selection. Wait a few moments for the gizmo to restart or turn off. Then, after a spell, power up your phone or tablet or just let it restart. This trick fixes most problems. If you're having difficulty with a touchscreen, remember that it needs to detect your finger for it to work. It doesn't work when you're wearing gloves, though special touchscreen gloves are available if you prefer to wear gloves. The touchscreen is also less effective when your fingers are wet.
