- [Instructor] Beyond a secure screen lock, you have a few things you can do to help maintain security on your Android mobile device. These steps include: Adding owner information to the lock screen, suppressing lock screen notifications, reviewing app security, and finding a lost Android. Adding owner information to the lock screen helps return your phone should it be found by a good Samaritan. Open the Settings app. Search for lock screen message or add text to lock screen. This item could also be called owner info or contact information. On this device choose add text to lock screen and it shows up here. Edit or type a message that will appear on your phone's lock screen. I recommend that you set an email address, such as I'm doing here, one that is not the phone's Gmail account address, a backup email account. And don't use the phone number, obviously.
