Hallucination in the context of generative AI refers to outputs from generative models that are inaccurate or misleading, such as false statements or non-existent references. So hallucination is a pretty good term, right, to describe this phenomenon. It's similar to how humans can hallucinate, confabulate, and misrepresent facts. Hallucinations are common when interacting with generative AI, and there is lots of research focused on reducing or even eliminating them.
