- [Instructor] We want to build a little translation tool for a recipes website, but how much will it cost? Let's do some estimation. If we look on how much Google translates costs, we can see that it costs $20 per million characters. Let's take a look in our spreadsheet to see how much this application would cost under different scenarios. I'm going to go into the exercise files and click on 02_05 under chapter two. So let's go through this spreadsheet. At the top here, I have some starting variables with our cost per million characters, a unit shortcut of a million, the number of characters per recipe, and the free tier provided by Google for translation. Now, let's go through our scenario. We're going to assume that we have 10,000 recipes to start off with. Each recipe has 2000 characters, so we're going to end up with 20,000 initial characters.
