How AI can improve project planning
- Dave and I have identified six areas, six parts of the project planning process where AI can really help you. Now, AI is just a tool. It will never be able to manage projects entirely, or replace a project manager, because of the creativity and the people skills required, or at least it's a long way off from that at the moment, but it can help you when you're doing something like considering risks or estimating timescales. So, you won't be replaced by AI, but you might be replaced by someone who's better at using AI than you are. So, AI is both an opportunity and a threat. The good news is that it's really easy to use, and that you can start using it gradually, and then build it up. For example, you might initially just use it to automatically make minutes of meetings for you, or just for the estimating of timescales, and then you can gradually use it for more and more parts of your project planning process, when you feel ready. The six areas we've identified are all good starting points. You could just try one of them, or you could wade in and rapidly use all six of them. During this course, we'll be showing you real examples of how you can use AI, so you can see it in action, and see how good it is, and also how easy it is. You don't need to be a programmer or a writer of code. You don't need to know about maths. You pretty much just go to a free website, and type in your questions. And by the way, as you go through this course, you'll think of lots of other uses for AI, other than just in your project management. So this just might really change your whole life.
