- [Instructor] The Latin word corporare, which means together in one body, is where we derive the term corporate. So when you say a corporation, you are saying many bodies represented in a single body. In this video, I will share how a corporation shares its identity through culture and values. A corporation's personality is expressed by critical behaviors that are both preferred and unwanted. An organization can be characterized, for instance, as a learning organization or innovative. Its behavior could also be very rules-oriented or bureaucratic. Examples of values that can be encouraged or fostered by the governing body come from norms like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all religions of the world in 1948.
