- Okay, that's cooking pretty well. I've got observability, I can read the data, but data isn't everything. It's about the stories you tell with data. I love the idea of thick data over big data. Thick data is about actually telling the story that is hidden in the big data story. There was a big data study in, actually, Los Angeles about how, if you can bring healthy, fresh food to so-called food deserts in areas that you could only get junk food, the idea was that people in lower-income neighborhoods would start using this food for their families. They didn't use it. So their conclusion was, "I guess they don't need it." But there was a deeper investigation, a more thick data approach that showed that many single moms don't want to give their kid a carrot, they want to give their kid a bag of chips.
