Super slow motion - After Effects Tutorial
From the course: AI and Machine Learning Tools for After Effects
Super slow motion
- [Instructor] In this chapter we'll explore third party plugins that aspire to improve your footage and solve problems at the post stage. The first tool is Speed X an advanced summary mapping plugin with AI technology that designed to speed up or slow down videos by interpolating additional images between frames intelligently. Now you already have a couple of frame blending methods to do it using native After Effects tools. The simplest one is frame mix that generates small dissolves between frames and works best for simulating motion blur on a speed up footage. The second one is the pixel motion method, also known as optical flow. And this one generate new frames based on a vector motion pattern map that is calculated from the real frame. And this can sometimes cause noticeable artifacts. So let's compare the built-in technology to the Speed X plugin and see if AI can help us generate better images. Not to spoiler it…
