What to know before starting

The last step that we're going to take before we jump into an actual AI agent building interface is making sure that you're familiar with specific terms that are necessary to understand how AI agents actually work. So we're going to go through a few terms and examples, and I'll be sure to attach a PDF that links to all this information. First things first, what actually is an AI agent and how do you differentiate that from large language models like Claude, ChatGBT, or Gemini? While a large language model is somewhat of a generalist and can be passively prompted to follow instructions, an AI agent workflow is actively created so that it can specifically execute instructions on your behalf. For example, it may be difficult for you to seamlessly prompt a large language model to log into a specific account, book a flight, send you the itinerary, and summarize all that information in a neatly packaged PDF.
