There's an old Greek fable about a mighty oak that stood over a field of reeds. The mighty oak had deep roots, while the reeds stayed flexible and moved it even the slightest breeze. One day a huge gust of wind toppled the old tree, but the reeds just flex backward and then sprung up again. Sometimes being small and flexible is better than being rigid and powerful.
