- [Instructor] The last few years have seen the rise of very sophisticated and useful artificial intelligence tools. One set of technology that's gotten a lot of attention is large language models. Now, large language models are a type of very advanced machine learning. That means that the machine learns patterns in language in a way that's very difficult for everyday humans to comprehend. The way these systems build large language models is by vacuuming up enormous amounts of text. In fact, some of the largest large language models, or LLMs, are expected to have vacuumed up all the available digital text in the next few years. When an AI system has access to that amount of data, it can start to produce text that sounds very lifelike. It can write poems about very obscure topics. It'll finish your email messages, or give you advice on how to best deal with coworkers. But it's important to keep in mind how this technology works.
