Orchestrator and executor in agentic AI
- [Instructor] Having discussed the planner, let's now talk about two other key components, namely the orchestrator and the executor. The orchestrator in Agentic AI system is responsible for coordinating communications between other components of the system to achieve the set goal. It can also be considered the manager of the system. What are the key functions of the orchestrator? It is the single point of contact for external clients for providing inputs and goals and also receiving outputs. The orchestrator knows about what are the services and tools exist in the system and their capabilities. It uses the planner to create a workflow with tasks for the given goals. Then it uses the executor to execute these tasks in a planned order. It alternates between the planner and the executor to achieve the goal. The orchestrator also monitors the work done by the executor and takes corrective actions as needed if errors are found. It uses memory to maintain short-term and long-term state…
