- [Instructor] If you're using After Effects 2022 or above, you probably noticed that After Effects is caching frames automatically when the app is idle. In this short tape, I'll show you what is actually happening and how to control the settings for it. So in a nutshell, when you've stopped to admire your beautiful design or just opened a project and wait for it to load, and then maybe you switched to check your email feed or handle, or even stepped away and got some coffee or tea, if you are here in the UK, the composition that has focused and any pre comps that is inside this composition will begin automatically rendering in the background. You will see a green cache marks appearing as frames are rendered, and you will not lose your place in the preview window. This should allow you then to scrub around the composition with frames already rendered, speeding up your design and preview iteration loop. Now, this is so…
