- [Instructor] Hello and welcome back to After Effects weekly. My name is Eran Stern and this time I want to show you few things you can do when you arm yourself with the Pen tool inside After Effects. For the most part it's the same pen that you can find in other Adobe applications, but it also possesses few unique qualities that involve some keyboard shortcuts and context menus. We will use this happy farmer as he carries his vegetable across the field to demonstrate this. Now our mission here is to cut him out of the background and composit him on top of this railwards tracks. Now I already did most of the work here and only left the rotoscoping of his hat. And if you want to know how I've reached this far, stay until the end of this tutorial and I'll tell you all about it, but for now, I'm going to choose the Pen tool and start to lay down some points around the edges of his straw hat.
