From the course: After Effects Guru: Mastering Cameras and Lights
Photo projection mapping
- By taking advantage of After Effects lights and our layers material options, we can easily add depth to our flat photographs in After Effects. In this movie, we're going to look at how we can reflect a layer onto several oriented in 3D space. So, I'm here inside my chapter3_3 composition and the general idea is that I want to take this photo and project it on a series of layers that I have planed and positioned and rotated in 3D space. I've already started the job off for you. In fact, if you see here, there's three solids in your composition and if I just turn them on, they are solids that have masks on them that cut out the shapes of the mountains there in the background. And if we take a close look at these 3D solids, you can see that they've also been positioned in 3D space as well. Some of them are locked because we're going to be moving them here in a second, but I do want to just unlock them for a second to show you the different position coordinates of each of those solids…
