- [Instructor] Next up, we're going to dive into flexibility. Flexibility provides developers the ability to create layered analytics within a dashboard, both in the visualizations themselves and supporting filtering and complimentary content. Two fundamental concepts in flexibility are field swapping and containers. Field swapping allows users to dynamically change fields being displayed inside a visualization. Note that field swapping won't change the chart type. It will actually change the pills that are placed on rows and columns and within your detail shelf. This will allow the end user to dynamically change your dimensions and measures within a visualization, and therefore, consolidate many other visualizations that they might have had to create. And you can think of this as taking the place of creating a PowerPoint slide deck with 10 different versions of the same chart, but with different measures and split by different categories and dimensions.
