- [Trainer] If you're just joining me, I'm in the grids and guides area of the exercise file. We just spoke about guides. Now let's talk about grids. So the way the grids work, is I define them on a global basis and then I can override them on an individual art board basis. To begin with, I'll probably select any one art board. So let's go with this desktop landing art board. With it selected here in the Properties Inspector towards the bottom, notice there's an area for grids. If I go ahead and check that box, I in essence, turn them on. As I mentioned, it's a global attribute and I can see them with these pink indicators here. Anything I do here in the Properties Inspector is going to update live there on the design canvas. I can come in and decide how many columns I'd like to work with.
