Project 8 is about creating a pattern out of this illustration so first of all we have to select the entire illustration and save it as a swatch group. So we go to swatches and then click on this folder icon which creates the new swatch group and it should be set to selected artwork and you can name this camera. Then let's click OK so we have all the colors in there. Now next we have to use the magic wand tool if you press Y on the keyboard you can get to the magic wand even if it's not showing up in your toolbar and you need to reduce the tolerance for this to work properly which you can do by double clicking on it and I recommend to set it to 1 so fill color tolerance 1 and then clicking on this background detail we could select everything that was the same color in this artwork and we can just press delete on the keyboard. The reason why we are doing this is because we want the background color to be handled in a different way so normally I wouldn't recommend saving a background…
