Building and exporting cache files
- When you work with really high-quality files or lots of files, Bridge ultimately needs to build previews. This is no different than Lightroom, and those previews are smaller, optimized versions that you can quickly browse and load. You have great control over this. If you bring up your preferences with Ctrl+K, you will see a category here called Cache. This is where you can decide how much disc space you're willing to use for cache. This case, up to 50 gigs has been chosen. You can adjust this up or down, and what it will automatically do is throw away the older, less-access cache files automatically when it reaches the limit. You also could decide to keep 100% previews in your cache, as well as compact the cache. 100% previews let you really see the image at full quality, and compacting the cache means that when you close the program, go ahead and optimize the cache, taking time to purge any unnecessary files and…
