- Have you heard it takes about seven seconds to make a first impression? That's no time at all. So before we even realize it, someone decides in their mind what kind of person they think we are based on the physical image they have just seen. Having said that, it is critical that we present ourselves in a way that will leave the most favorable feeling with the person we have just encountered. One of the quickest ways to do that is by dressing for success. Here are some dos when dressing for success. Do dress for the role we want, not the role we have. I have always kept that in mind when determining how I should present myself each day. Although you don't want to look out of place, you also want to be mindful to dress for the level of the office you represent or the position you desire.
