- [Speaker 1] Bioprinting is a fairly broad term that takes in may different 3D printing techniques. Most generally, it's using one of several 3D printing techniques to print something that's meant to be part of a living thing, or perhaps stand in for one. Just as in the conventional 3D printing business there's a mix of printer sellers and service bureaus. There are some that mostly use their machines in house to produce tissues for researchers. There are companies that primarily sell printers and associated supplies across a wide range of price points. The core difference between conventional 3D printing and bioprinting, according to Erik Gatenholm, the Co-founder and CEO of CELLINK, is that there's an entire process chain involved before and after creation of a print that's necessary to care for a living product.
